Spektrum Glasses ProSPEK Review

As a Senior Systems Analyst I work in front of a computer screen for the majority of days during the week. From this my eyes got strained and started to hurt, it gradually got so bad, I didn’t even want to look at my screen and do my work anymore…At night, I also noticed it taking longer and longer for me to fall asleep, I read that this could be due to artificial light exposure at night time…

So, I quickly started doing some searching around online and here’s what I found…

There is a specific light that is released by electronic devices called blue light. This artificial light has been proven to cause disruptions in the sleep patterns of those who spend extended periods of times in front of their computers, TVs, or phones. The light confuses the body, changing the circadian rhythm of people so their bodies don’t know when to sleep. The result of this confusion is very detrimental to health. Because blue light is inevitable due to the reliance society has on its electronics, creative solutions to this problem are needed. One of the most effective solutions designed so far are Spektrum's ProSPEK Blue Light Blocking Glasses. In this review, we’ll be taking a closer look into these glasses and determine whether it is a right choice or not. We will also talk about its major specifications and features, so I hope that this can help you.

ProSPEK Glasses Features Overview

1.Blue Light Blocking Technology – They block out the blue light that tricks your body into thinking it’s not time for you to sleep yet. This increases fatigue, stress and muscle strain that can spiral into severe health conditions in the long term. Fortunately, the blue light blocking technology of ProSPEK shields your eyes from blue light at night, helping you sleep faster and wake up in the morning fresh and rested.

2.CR39 Lenses – These lenses are lightweight, and more impact and shatter resistant compared to glass lenses. They also last for a really long time with consistent optical quality.

3.Premium Acetate Frames – These are sturdy but flexible making it very moldable to ergonomic design. Results- sleek, wearable and fashionable eyewear. ProSPEK glasses have a beautiful design that is not just comfortable but also looks great regardless of your face shape.

4.Anti UV – 100% Block – The lenses in ProSPEK glasses are UV treated to protect your retina from direct exposure to the sun’s UV rays. A special dye is used to treat the lenses for guard your eyes from the long-term effects of UV rays exposure.

5.Anti Reflection – by cutting out reflection it makes your vision crystal clear.

6.Anti Glare – for better visibility

7.Anti Flicker – the lenses dampen the flicker caused by screens when brightness is adjusted or modulated.

8.Flexi-Fit Design – for easy fitting and comfort.

As more and more studies came out proving that the blue, artificial light released by electronic devices was changing the way the body rested, the Spektrum Glasses realized they had to do something to help. In an effort to prevent the many health problems associated with blue light exposure, ProSPEK was designed to help block out this light, protecting the eyes from these sleeps altering lights. Users can wear ProSPEK glasses an hour or so before going to bed, allowing their bodies to begin the unwinding process needed for healthy sleep. Or, for those who spend longer amounts of time in front of electronics, ProSPEK glasses can be worn throughout the day, protecting the body from these rays as much as possible.

FRAMES

The pairs of ProSPEK glasses are of a classical style which fits most face shapes and sizes. When wearing these glasses, the user is given a look of sophistication and formality. Because of its black color, neutrality allows the glasses to be easily paired with any outfit for any occasion. Although the frame is made of plastic, it exudes a metallic gleam, so it looks more expensive. Its style and color is unisex and fits any gender. The frame is sculpted in such a way that it shall rest comfortably on key facial features like ears and nose. The nose pads are extensions of the frame and may restrict movements on the area. The frame is made of a material called TR90 – a polymer synthesized through Swiss technology. It is a thermoplastic meaning it can be shaped and remolded with heat unlike thermosets which breaks and cannot be reformed. But in positive note, the material can resist temperatures up to 350 degrees. The material is also flexible, so it is less prone to mechanical breakage. The material is also light with a weight of 1.6 ounces. Hence, the ears will less likely to ache while wearing these glasses for long periods of time.

LENSES

Because of the classic style employed by the frame, the lenses follow the design. This size of lenses covers the eyes effectively. The lenses do not have that yellowish tint as other anti-radiation glasses do. Hence, less color distortion is experienced while wearing the glasses. Nevertheless, the lenses still serve its function by blocking or reflecting off 99.9% of harmful high-frequency blue light emitted by cellular devices, laptops, computers, television screens, and even fluorescent lights. These rays make the eyes dry because blinking is reduced. It also makes the eyes itch, become bloodshot, experience fatigue and strain, and look tire. Moreover, the harmful radiation may cause dizziness, headaches and insomnia since high energy blue light disrupts the normal levels of melatonin – the hormone responsible for inducing sleep to human beings. Aside from blue light and anti-UV layer, the lenses have seven more layers. The surface is protected with anti-scratch layer which prevents the lenses from mechanical abrasions. Through this, other layers are also protected. Another thing is the anti-glare layer in which photoelectric effect by metallic surfaces is reduced when it reaches the user’s eyes. This layer is useful for night driving because headlights of passing cars will not disturb the driver very much. There is also an anti-fog layer made of hydrophobic material. Water and other high-polarity liquids are not sticking to its surface, so fog will not condense and blur the user’s vision. The user will not be bothered as he or she moves from an area of a lower to a higher temperature. Aside from which, oil and grease are also resisted by an anti-oil layer. Others include anti-screen flicker layer and anti-reflective layer.

ACCESSORIES

The glasses come with a complimentary carrying case that follows the style and color of the eyewear itself. This case helps to further protect they eyewear from damage and foreign material such as dust, water, oil, grease, etc. It also comes with a high-quality microfiber cloth that is soft to touch and effectively removes dirt, oil, grease, etc. from the lenses’ surface.

Performance

ProSPEK glasses claims that it blocks both 50% and 99.9% of harmful blue light even without the yellowish tint that sometimes cause color distortion. Through experience, the negative effects of harmful blue light are greatly reduced. There is no more sleep deprivation, headaches, or dizziness. The eyewear is comfortable to wear. Long hours of wearing the glasses does not exactly make the ears hurt. ProSPEK glasses are performing really well and may even be a top on the list of anti-radiation glasses.
